You better parksmart… or else.

The Parksmart Platform

My task was to digitalise a service and make it scaleable. Parksmart is a service provider that connects, clients to services and in this case to remove parking violators from private parking spaces.

Step 1

The flow chart
Visualising core functionality of the process. We first needed to define the parameters and rules. We needed to see how all stakeholders will interact with each other and anticipate unexpected outcomes, along with desired outcomes.

Step 2

User Story Mapping
Great! now we know how this platform functions, what happens when but how will the different users engage on our platform and what will be the levers and options they pull to make it all happen? In order to figure this out, I created user maps for each of the user types. This is where we really start to use Design Thinking.

Not always the most pretty phase of the project ;)

Step 3

The Wireframes Now we know what each user needs to make their experience meaningful we need to test our hypothesis, so we enter the wireframe phase. Because speed was important, I decided to create hi-fidelity wireframes. Oh and of course we chose mobile first.

An overview of all three user wireframes

STEP 4

Prototyping I then used Invision to create a prototype, aka Click dummy. to test the experience and determine if MVP was sufficient to deliver a meaningful experience to build on.

STEP 5

Screen Design and Design System Now that we are happy with the content and available actions and navigation. I begin to design our screens, taking them from wireframes to pixel perfect screens. Because I was working with a start-up they did not have strong branding attributes. So I use this step to begin to develop a brand identity and design system to make programming the front end easier and keep things consistent.

Building the Atomic Design System

Last but not least, was the website design. Branding system created during the building of the tool was now used to leverage the look and feel of the website.

FINAL STEPS

Well, we are still working on this MVP, Now I am working closely with our front end developers to bring these screens to life. Our client is very happy. All the work you see above is all my work and my thinking. Flows where primarily developed and provided by our client.
